Fashion Icons

audrey_hepburn_1965_2_Everyone has a different idea of who a fashion icon should be. Jacqueline Kennedy and Audrey Hepburn were famous women who not only influenced style, but designers, too. These women led fashion, were incredibly strong and graceful. Women still wear similar pieces today: little black dress, the sunglasses, chic hair, etc. These women are icons.

Who’s a fashion icon today that young women can look up to? With the recent election, it’s obvious that Michelle Obama is becoming an icon. She’s intelligent, athletic, a mom and beautiful. Michelle handles every situation with grace. There’s been a lot that’s been written up on her, especially her selection of designers. She’s given hope to a lot of aspiring fashion designers.

ivankaThere is another young lady that is quite interesting. Her fashion sense is incredible; although she was born with money her parents made her to work hard for herself. She’s gone to the Wharton School for business and is involved in her father’s business. She’s refreshing because she’s the antithesis of Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. Yes, I’m talking about the one and only Ivanka Trump. She’s a class act. Her style reminds me of such classic labels as St. John, Chanel, Valentino, Caroline Herrara. Ivanka is a role model many young ladies should follow. She is intelligent, strong, classy, sexy, graceful and when it comes to her fashion it’s always chic and meticulously put together.

  1. Kennedy and Hepburn are classic styles that will last forever! and Obama is proving to be quite a classy dresser herself (some reflection of the previous two women). Ivanka’s review sounds like her dotting parents wrote this about her…. lots of HYPE but where are the proofs? We’ll have to keep an eye on her and see if she proves to be worth all this attention.

  2. Hi Sherri, I respect everyone’s opinion. When you have the opportunity. Watch how Ivanka carries herself and listen to how she speaks. She’s the same age as Paris Hilton and there a significant different between the two.

  3. Have you ever seen Jacqueline Kennedy or Audrey Hepburn make a fashion mistake? Michelle has some great pieces, but she is still learning. That huge bow on her shirt last week was an eye sore. I applaud her brave attempt, but she will only be like the classics when she can avoid horrible mistakes like that.
