Short hair is in style these days. So many celebrities have taken to cutting their hair short and this is certainly a fashion and hairstyle trend that isn’t going away quickly! I know quite a few of my friends who made the decision to cut their length right down and none of them regretted it. There’s a misconception about short hair that all the styles look relatively the same due to not having the same length to work with. This is massively untrue because there are so many styles with different colours and fringes you can take influence from. To get a better idea of the sort of styles available to girls thinking about removing some length, I spoke to Yen Hair in Bromsgrove, a popular and professional hairdressers in the Birmingham area, about some of the latest trends that they expect to see requested in their salon.
Pixie
The classic pixie cut can be modified in many ways, but celebrities such as Miley Cyrus and Emma Watson have made the standard pixie very popular. As you can see from the photo, Ms. Watson really rocks this look and has also added a touch of colour to the front of the fringe. It’s an elegant and edgy look at the same time. A dangerous combination!
Buzz cut
Again there are so many varieties of the buzzcut but generally it means shaving the hair really close in the hairstyle at some point. A great example of a modified version of this is the style that actress Ruby Rose has in the series Orange in the new Black. It’s certainly a bold and stunning style if done correctly and it’s certainly a unique look that really shows of one’s personality!
Bob
The bob has been around for quite a while now but just because it’s not an entirely new trend doesn’t mean that it’s not a great option for the short haired girl! Seen in the photo by Keira Knightly, the bob can also create a lovely frame and adding a touch of colour to the hair also adds a gorgeous layer to a tried and tested hairstyle!
Of course they’re many other short hairstyles you can go for so do your research online, print off your favourite one and take it to your hairdressers for that short style you’ve always wanted.
