Australia is a very happy and good looking place, with a lot of good looking people, despite the entire ecosystem wanting to murder you in your sleep. You don’t need a lot of excuses to dress up here, except for the fact that it is typically a surfer nation.

If you do want to dress all fancy, then you can look forward to these events that are as good as an excuse as any to get in some fine duds:

1. Oz Comic-Con

Okay, this is probably not the direction you expected this entry to go, but it is still very valid in my opinion, and was worth a mention. If you really want to get dressed up in something literally out of this world, then Comic-Con is your best bet. Weird to an outsider, perhaps, though honestly, it is not everyday that you get to dress up in costumes that are completely out of the box and get away with it. Even ladies sometimes need their taste of nerdy, geeky fun.

2. Australian Fashion Week

There is probably no way that you will be able to outshine the models on the runway, partly because nobody is quite sure how to wear those outfits on a daily basis. However, you can still look good and stand out from the sea of people coming to watch. Dress up in your best duds and feel the fashion vibe yourself.

3. Australia Day

Australia day is the day to celebrate the founding of the Australian nation. Crowds will gather under to watch the fireworks explode in the beautiful night sky, strangers will mingle and all will be merry. Make sure you dress up nicely for the beer that will undoubtedly splash on your top. At the end of the day, the celebration is all worth it.

4. Anzac day

Anzac day is one of remembrance for the brave who have crossed to the other life whilst serving the nation. Anzac (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) is the day for you to dress up to show your respect to the men and women who gave up much to protect the country.

5. NYE Fireworks

New year’s eve is the night of all nights for you to look your best. End the year looking good and start the year looking great, just a little bit wasted. Similar to Australia day, the night will be filled with firewords and people on the streets celebrating both the end and the beginning.

This is the perfect time for you to really put in an effort to look good and determine how the rest of your year will go. Get ready to dodge the beer, however, it’s New Year’s Eve. Who even cares? If you’re feeling particularly lucky, you might want to begin the new year by hitting Australian casinos and start the year with a big win.

Make sure to mark your calendars and save up for some nice wardrobe if you do plan on going to these events. Also, set aside a doable budget long before!
